Sales Funnels in the Era of LLMs: How to Overcome Objections and Close the AI Buyer

The traditional marketing funnel as you know it is dead.
You do all the hard work. You run the ads, optimize the landing page, and get the prospect all the way to the checkout screen. But right before they enter their credit card, they pause.
They don’t just buy. Instead, they open a new tab. They go straight to ChatGPT, Claude, or Perplexity.
Why? Because at the absolute bottom of the funnel, buyers want validation. They want an objective third party to confirm they are making the right choice. If your online company isn't controlling what the AI says in this exact moment, you are losing massive amounts of revenue.
What Are Buyers Actually Asking AI?
When people are in the final stage of purchasing, their intent shifts. They stop looking for features and start looking for loopholes.
For e-commerce, the number one search is always about price. In the old days, buyers would abandon their cart and wait for the inevitable 20% discount email to arrive a day later. Today, they don't wait. They ask the AI: "Find me active discount codes for [Your Brand]." But it doesn't stop at discounts. Buyers ask for alternatives. They prompt the AI with: "What is a cheaper alternative to [Your Brand]?" or "Who offers better customer service than [Your Brand] nearby?" They are directly comparing you against three or four of your biggest competitors. If the AI doesn’t have a clear, definitive reason why you are the superior choice, it will happily recommend the cheaper alternative.
How to Build an AI-Proof Sales Funnel
How do you win this new bottom-of-funnel game? You treat the AI exactly like a real-life sales call.
Think about your best salesperson. Before a client signs a contract, they have objections. Price, implementation time, product longevity—every business has a top 10 list of sales objections.
You must take those exact objections and inject them directly into your AI funnel.
You need to create hyper-specific, deeply researched content that answers these final-stage questions head-on. Don't hide your flaws; address them. Build transparent "Us vs. Them" comparison pages. Publish a highly optimized FAQ that directly tackles the exact concerns buyers are asking AI right before they purchase.
When you proactively publish the answers to these objections, you feed the LLM exactly what it needs to close the sale for you.
If you don't give the AI the answers to these final objections, it will find them somewhere else. And trust me, you won't like what your competitors have to say about you.
Are you ready to take control of your bottom-of-funnel AI narrative?
